With its sleek new design and winning performance, the redesigned 2015 Chrysler 200 has already earned some well-deserved attention, but results from the NHTSA’s safety rating program are giving admirers yet another “pro” to add to the list.
The all-new Chrysler 200 has earned a five-star overall safety rating from the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) – the highest possible safety rating awarded by the NHTSA.
The NHTSA tests conducted included evaluations of performance in frontal collisions, side-impacts simulating a two-vehicle collision, and side-impacts simulating a single-vehicle collision with a pole. The 2015 Chrysler 200’s five-star status adds on to its current rating as a Top Safety Pick+ by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
The 2015 Chrysler 200 is an all-around safety winner thanks to a mile-long list of the most advanced passive and active safety technologies. 65 percent of the new 200’s body structure consists of hot-stamped, high-strength, advanced high-strength, and boron steels. These sturdy materials stabilize the body of the 200 during collisions.
Safety systems available for the 2015 Chrysler 200 include smart systems like Full-speed Forward Collision Warning-Plus, which combines camera and radar technology to provide greater object-detection precision. This combination of radar and camera technologies is the first of its kind for mainstream-brand mid-size sedans. The system provides alerts, autonomous braking, and can even slow or bring the vehicle to a full stop when a frontal collision is inescapable. Other standard safety features in the 2015 Chrysler 200 include Electronic Stability Control (ESC), electronic roll mitigation, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, ParkSense rear backup sensors, ParkView rear backup camera, blind-spot monitoring, Rear Cross Path Detection and LATCH child seat anchors.
With top safety ratings, sleek good looks, power, and efficiency, the 2015 Chrysler 200 is an undeniable winner. Ready to experience the new 200 for yourself? Contact us or stop by DAS Demo today for a test drive.
